Immigration Points System is Just Spin

I have been reporting on a number of visa issues relating too Intercompany Transfer Visas and foreign workers replacing the contracts of EEA with information provided to me from IT contractors, See these articles here and here on Lloyds are Being Investigated by the UK Border Agancy and Unfair Competition for UK and EU IT Workers?

Recently one of my contacts was on BBC Radio 4 on the program 'The Report' entitled 'Immigration 31st Dec 2009'. Steve can be heard from 21 minutes to about 26 minutes into the report here, although the whole report worth a listen. the report is about 'Phil Kemp investigates whether the government's new points-based system of immigration is actually working'. I am not surprised to discover that the government spin on the new points system working is just that, spin.

  1. Great post.

Folk should email the correct people with their concerns.

Starting with the immigration minister responsible for this mess, who despite clear evidence has claimed on the radio that the evidence is only "anecdotal". A man who has rubber-stamped the influx of Indian and other nationals on Intra Company transfer visas as part of Labours determined attempt to "rub the Right's nose in diversity"

(The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and "rub the Right's nose in diversity", according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett. He said Labour's relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to "open up the UK to mass migration" but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its "core working class vote".)

So that immigration minister is Phil (am I a liar or just stupid?) Woolas, suggest anyone with any concerns email him at WOOLASP@parliament.uk

Remember he has been heavily aided by Stephen (I used to work in IT and believe all it needs is more business skills and offloading more of the work to India) who has been out in India telling the Indian outsourcing companies how he wants to see much more of the UKs IT work moved to India and has been part of moving NHS IT work to India to prove this. He has even been stupid enough to write articles in the press, such as recent ones in "Computing" magazine, showing clear sympathy with Indian outsourcers competing unfairly with Brits, and falsely implying Brits are bad at working internationally.

Stephen is Financial Secretary to the Treasury, suggest anyone concerned about his nonsense should email their concerns to TIMMSS@parliament.uk

I think its important that in this year of election that the Conservatives show their hand on this important issue, and would also encourage any concerned reader to contact the shadow home secretary to ask about his view on the Indian outsourcers, he can be reached at graylingc@parliament.uk

Its not just intra company transfer visas either the Indian outsourcers also abuse other visas and routinely cheat when they are "supposed" to try and hire Brits or Europeans before being eligible for visas. Tricks such as insisting on irrelevant qualifications from potential Brit employees to allow them to falsely claim they need to bring in their folk from India, when often the Brit is one of the most skilled people on the planet in the relevant skill and the qualification is irrelevant. To say nothing of the routine payment of money as "expenses" which do not qualify as expenses under UK tax rules and should be being taxed as part of pay.

But most of all its the bullying, abuse, racism and way below market money paid by the Indian outsourcers which should mark them out as nasty people who should be treated accordingly.

Of course copy the press and your local MP into any emails you send.
